![]() ![]() Since the original post is from 2011, I though I would offer the experience I had recently with Camptune.ĬONTEXT: Yesterday, I bought a new MacBook Pro (Retina, 13"). Hope this saves someone the headaches I had! third time was a charm! Worked perfectly and both partitions are now humming away nicely. (there was some evidence from postings online that this is a problem) Then, in Mac OS disk utility, I ran repair disk. In Mac OS disk utility partition tab, I stretched the Mac partition to include all of the space between the 2 partitions. second try generated a 'cross-linked files' error. First try to resize the partition generated a Disk i/o error. (I have read lots of unfortunate stories from people that didnt backup before using CampTune so back it up and save yourself.) CampTune includes a nifty little backup tool for the paranoid folks like myself. CampTune requires that you burn a cd then boot from that cd. after purchase, product key didnt work but Paragon corrected after 24 hours waiting So, in case anyone else has the same challenges, here's my $0.02: In the end, it was well worth the $20 but there were headaches along the way. When I discovered I couldn't increase the size of my BC partition without deleting and reinstalling it, I was pretty desperate to try anything that would not create the days of work involved. I'm very happy with this purchase. After reading lots of threads about CampTune, I thought I would post my experience in case anyone else tries it. ![]() This saved me so much time and effort it was well worth the price!!! Everything is working *flawlessly* so far. ***I'm assuming a lot of low level formatting took place so I let the program do its thing even though the progress bar seemed to not move the ENTIRE time it was working but it worked–hard drive recovery, optimization, etcetera always takes a LONG time and patience!!!*** It prompted me a few times throughout the process for my password-from the original 64GB I changed it to about 124GB and took a little over an hour-but when it was done it was done and flawless! this came up in my searches and I decided to check the site out again-10.8 support!īought it, downloaded, didn't read the manual, looked at how much hard drive space I had and thought about how much I wanted to allocate to Bootcamp, slid the slider over and let Camptune X do its thing. I was searching how to go about reinstalling and reactivating my product code for Win7Pro because I really wanted to allocate more of my hard drive to Bootcamp and was ready to wipe the Bootcamp partition. Fortunately, Paragon Software has developed Camptune X, which achieves the same result in a matter of minutes!ġ0.1 has been released with support for OS X 10.8 In the past, to reallocate free space on your Mac, you'd need to back up the Boot Camp partition, delete the partition, recreate an NTFS partition with a new size and, finally, restore the Windows partition backup to the new NTFS partition, a process that could take anywhere between two to five hours. Paragon CampTune can perform resize operations with a system disk in macOS even with System Integrity Protection turned on.FileVault encrypted volumes are supported. ![]() ![]()
